This year I was commissioned to paint one of the many traffic boxes occupying the intersections here in Bloomington. It was my first real venture in public art. It was rough hauling my supplies via multiple bike rides and working in the sweltering sun, but it was worth it. I wanted to do something that was simple, graphic, and bright, that could be noticed from several blocks away. It turned out well, and I was glad to have the opportunity to contribute to the aesthetics of my favorite Midwestern city. You can catch a glimpse of it on the northeastern corner of 4th & College.
